UK, Canada, France and Norway Impose Coordinated Sanctions on Networks Linked to Settler Violence in the West Bank

LONDON, June 10, 2026 (JNA Press) – The United Kingdom, Canada, France, and Norway announced coordinated sanctions targeting Israeli networks accused of financing, facilitating, and carrying out settler violence in the occupied West Bank.

The move comes amid growing international concern over escalating settler attacks, which diplomats say are undermining prospects for a viable Palestinian state and contributing to instability across the occupied Palestinian territories.

The measures follow similar sanctions announced days earlier by Australia and New Zealand, reflecting increasing frustration among several Western governments over settlement expansion policies pursued by the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of the four countries, joined by Australia, the governments said the sanctions aim to “hold extremist settlers accountable for the appalling levels of violence committed against Palestinian civilians.”

The statement added that the signatory countries continue to urge the Israeli government to take concrete measures to ensure meaningful accountability for violence in the West Bank, while stressing the importance of upholding international law and protecting civilians.

The sanctions represent one of the most significant coordinated international actions against settler violence in recent years and signal growing Western pressure for stronger measures against individuals and entities involved in attacks on Palestinian communities.
