Four Palestinians Injured in Settler Attack Following Dismantling of Settlement Outpost Near Ramallah

DEIR ABU MASHAL, Occupied West Bank, June 12, 2026 (JNA Press) – Four Palestinians, including one who was seriously injured, were wounded on Friday in an attack carried out by Israeli settlers against residents of the village of Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of Ramallah, shortly after villagers dismantled a settlement outpost established on their land.

Jamil Mousa, head of the Deir Abu Mashal Village Council, said a group of settlers attacked Palestinians in the Al-Qara'in hill area south of the village using clubs, knives, and sharp objects, injuring four people, one of whom was reported to be in serious condition.

The incident occurred after dozens of residents succeeded in reaching and dismantling a settlement outpost that had recently been established on village land, a move that heightened tensions in the area.

Witnesses said clashes later erupted between Palestinian residents and Israeli forces accompanied by settlers, with Israeli troops firing tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Local residents said Israeli forces entered the village around Friday prayers as residents were preparing to head toward Al-Qara'in hill to protest the establishment of the settlement outpost.

Earlier in the day, settlers had re-erected a settlement tent on the same hill, days after the site had been removed under a court order, according to local officials.

Several areas across the occupied West Bank have witnessed rising tensions linked to settlement expansion and land disputes, amid warnings from human rights organizations over increasing violence and its impact on Palestinian civilians.
