Settlers Erect Tent on Jabal Batn al-Hayya Northwest of Ramallah

Ramallah, West Bank – Palestinian residents said that Israeli settlers erected a tent late on Sunday night on Jabal Batn al-Hayya, a hill belonging to the lands of Beitillu village, northwest of Ramallah.

According to local sources, the site is located in the Al-Haykali area, which falls within Area B, and is surrounded by more than 8,000 dunams of land belonging to the villages of Beitillu, Deir Ammar, Jamala and Deir Abu Mash’al.

Residents said the installation of the tent had raised concerns about the possible establishment of a new settlement outpost in the area, noting the site’s strategic location amid extensive agricultural lands owned by several Palestinian villages.

The residents added that the move comes amid what they described as an increase in settlement activity in the surrounding area in recent months, expressing concern that a permanent settler presence at the site could lead to restrictions on access to the land or affect its future use.

No immediate comment was available from Israeli authorities regarding the reports
