SEVILLE, Spain — June 4, 2026 — Thousands of worshippers, residents and visitors gathered in the historic center of Seville on Thursday to celebrate Corpus Christi, one of the most significant religious observances in the Catholic calendar and one of the city's most deeply rooted traditions.
The celebrations began in the morning at the Cathedral of Seville, where a solemn Mass was held before the start of the annual Corpus Christi procession. At approximately 11:00 a.m., the ceremonial float carrying the Blessed Sacrament in the historic monstrance departed from the cathedral, marking the beginning of a procession through the decorated streets of the Andalusian capital.
Crowds lined the route as clergy, religious brotherhoods, civic authorities and faithful participants accompanied the procession through the city center. The event transformed Seville's historic streets into a scene of religious devotion, with balconies adorned for the occasion and worshippers gathering to witness one of the city's most cherished traditions.
Corpus Christi, which honors the presence of Christ in the Eucharist, has been celebrated in Seville for centuries and remains one of the most important dates in the city's religious and cultural calendar.
